Mummu takes a ride

I decided to build a scene around Mo Manning's Mummu on her bike. Isn't she a great old gal?

I resized Mummu and printed her on Cryogen white paper with my inkjet printer. I also printed a mask using Eclipse tape. All of the scenic stamps are from Stampscapes rubber stamps. I stamped them around Mummu with Memento Tuxedo black ink.
Copics used:
Mummu's top - B000, b00, B01
Mummu's skirt - R81, R83, R85
Face - E00, E02
Shoes - E33
Bike - B12, B14, C0, C2, C6
Flowers - B63, R24, G24
Grass - G40, G24, E51
Cabin - E11, E13, E17
Trees- G24, E43
Fence - E43, E44

The sky was airbrushed with B21, B45, R81. Finished size is 7.5 x 8 inches.

Mo Manning Bat Cat

How cute is this kittie? My friend, Jenny colored up this image and of course I had to have it as well. So I hurried over to Mo Manning's shop and got him today.

This is a digi stamp which means you can size it anyway you want, you can even make it look left instead of right! I printed him onto Cryogen white paper with my inkjet printer.
Using Copics:
Mask - BV01, BV23
Cat - YR0000, YR01, YR12, YR14
Inner ear, nose and mouth- RV42
Pumpkins - E93, E95, E97

I airbrushed BV13 around the image before removing it from the die. What a cutie!

Parchment Craft class samples

I taught another Parchment Craft class over the weekend. I thought I would post up the cards we made with some basic instructions. I use 36# vellum with I purchase from Sweet Impressions stamps. I stamp the images with white dye ink and on some of the cards I heat embossed them with Detail White embossing powder. The next step is to dry emboss on the back of the vellum. Just follow the outline of the image and then add fill where needed.

This first card is very basic, I stamped the Cutwork Rose #7011 with white dye ink onto the vellum. Once it was dry, I dry embossed from the reverse side. A great tip, rub wax paper over the reverse side of the vellum to make your embossing tool glide easier. I added a Rainbow paper panel behind the image before sliding it into the corner punches. Easy Peasy!

The next card Poinsettia Candle #7065 has 2 versions, one is just dry embossing, the second is dry embossed and then colored with Memento markers. I did heat emboss these with white Detail embossing powder after stamping. It just makes the image a little crisper.

Now onto the fun part. We did some cutting using the 4-Split Perforating Tool. Talk about a Wow factor! For this first card, I stamped Simple Frame #435, Merry Christmas Large #956 and heat embossed with white Detail embossing powder. On a separate sheet of vellum, I stamped and heat embossed Poinsettia large 7032 and Simple Poinsettia 7068. We dry embossed the frame, following the entire outline and then filling in the wide border. We also dry embossed the poinsettias, colored them with Memento markers and then cut them out with the perforating tool. Be sure to click on the images for a closer look.

I like the last card the best. This uses Filigree Frame #426 and Fancy Flower Large 2 #451, Fancy Flower Med 2 #453, Large Fancy Leaf #462 and Small Fancy Leaf #463. These were only stamped with white dye ink, no heat embossing this time. The flowers and leaves were stamped on a separate piece of vellum and once again cut out using the 4 Split Perforating tool.

You can purchase all the supplies you need for these cards from Sweet Impressions stamps. Be sure to check out the video of Stacey making a lovely embossed bride card.

Thanks for stopping by.

Trick or Treat with Bella and Bronte

Mo Manning, the wonderful artist who has created Bella and Bronte, was very generous to the members of her SNR group by giving us this digi image! There are now over 200 members in the group, come on and join us and take advantage of Mo's generosity.

I love Bella and Bronte, doesn't she look cute in her witch costume. According to Mo, Bella was complaining that she needed a black cat so poor Bronte had to fit the bill. I think he looks a little confused?

I resized the image and printed it onto Cryogen white paper with my inkjet printer.
Using Copics:
Bella face - E000, E00, E02
Hair - YR18
Hat, shoes and cauldron - C3, C5
Belt - YR14, YR18
Dress - YG01, YG03
Top and stockings - YR14, C6
Cape - BV23, BV25, YR14
Broom - E33, Y21
Bronte - E41, E42, E43, R20
Cape - C3, C5
Pumpkin - YR14, YR18
Moon - Y00

I masked the image and then created a night sky by airbrushing W3 and W5 and adding some stars with a white glaze pen. The DP is from My Mind's Eye . Finished size is 6" square.

Tobaggoning with Bella and Bronte

I decided to join in on the fun with Mercy's sketch challenge this week. So here is my creation.

I began with this wonderful digi image from Mo Manning. I resized and then printed it onto Cryogen paper with my inkjet printer. Using my Copics:

I airbrushed B02 around the image and used a white glaze pen on Bronte's coat fringe and the snowflakes. The DP is from Bo Bunny, the blue panel is the reverse of the striped panel. Finished size is 5 x 7 inches. Don't they look like they are having fun?

Mo Manning's Jingle Bells

Here are Bella and Bronte again, this time they are singing Jingle Bells! Aren't they just the cutest digital image from Mo Manning?

I began by sizing and printing the image onto Cryogen white paper using my inkjet printer. Then of course I colored with my Copics:
Bella's face - E000, E00, E02, R20
hair - YR18
scarf - E07, E08
coat and hat - YG93, YG95, E53, E07
stockings - E53, E07, YG93
ear muffs and hat trim - E51, E53
book - E51
boots - E53, E55
Bronte - E41, E42, E43
scarf - YG93, E07

I airbrushed E53 around the image to match the DP from Graphic 45. Finished size is 6" square.

When I was a kid a bunch of us would go out caroling around town and then we would meet my Mom at the church for hot chocolate and cookies. This image reminds me of those times. Take a peek at Mo's shop and see what memories she rekindles for you.

Mo Manning's Mummu

"Dance like no one is watching,
Love like you'll never be hurt,
Sing like no one is listening,
And live like it's Heaven on Earth."
William Purkey

These words are what I think of when I look at this digi stamp by the amazingly talented Mo Manning . She is called Mummu and she looks so incredibly happy with her life. I just love her and inspire to have the same outlook on life.

I printed Mummu onto Cryogen white paper with my inkjet printer. Using my Copics:
Hair - C0, C2, C3
Skin - E000, E00, E02
Top - RV21, RV23, white glaze pen
Skirt - B91, B93, B95
Petticoat - C0
Shoes - E33, E37

I airbrushed B91 around Mummu before removing her from my Curved Rectangle Nestabilities from Spellbinders. Then I added a lot of dots using my white glaze pen. I punched out the flowers and dry embossed them for a rounded appearance. Finished size is 5 x 7 inches.

Copic class images

I just realized as I was tidying up my blog, that I never shared the scans of images from a few of my past Copic classes. Better late, than never. I have added a new label at the end of my post and on the sidebar called "Copic class" It will bring up all the posts with my Copic class samples.

These girls are from Sugar Nellie, Sarah Kay, Whiff of Joy and Magnolia stamps.

The floral images are from Sweet Impressions rubber stamps.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope my images have inspired you to get out those markers and color.

These images are a dream to color with Copics. I was able to get wonderful shading and blending. I am hoping my students like them as well.

Thanks for stopping by.

Class samples

I had class today with my lovely ladies, hi, girls, Elaine, we missed you. Here are the cards we made. As you can see we had a Halloween/Fall theme going on. Be sure to click on the picture for a much larger view.

The first card uses a Tim Holtz stamp, dye inks stippled onto glossy paper.

The scarecrow is from Whipper Snapper, stamped on Cryogen paper and colored with Copics.

Tilda, of course needs no introduction, but when I prepped the class, I ran out of the background paper so my sample is different from the ones the ladies made today.

And the last card uses an adorable stamp from Art Gone Wild. The dots are a Stamp by Judith. All of the cards are 4.25 x 5.5 inches. I hope they inspire you to pick up your stamps and get them inky! Thanks for visiting.

Another Mo Manning Digi Freebie

If you have not joined Mo's SNR Card Universe Group, you should. Here is another freebie she gave to the group members today. What a great sketch. The challenge was to make a cozy scene. The great thing about Copics is if you chose colors that have the same numbers from different families they harmonize and give you a very smooth effect. Not sure smooth is the word I want, no color leaps out at you, they all are the same tone and shade. So I used a combination of RV91, RV93, RV95 and YG91, YG93, and YG95. You can see how the plums and the greens all kind of harmonize. It looks cozy!! Additional Copics used:
Top - YR20
Skin - E000, E00, E02
Hair - E13, E19
Book - E51
Window panes - B000
Tree - G40, YG03, E53

The DP is from the Paper Loft. Finished size is 5 x 7 inches.

Skating by Mo Manning

The challenge over at Copic Creations is to use your favorite color combinations. Mo Manning of Mo's Digital Pencil is this week's sponsor.

So I decided to create a scene around Bella and Bronte Skating. Aren't they just the cutest, I had to get them all; Toboggan and Jingle Bells.

I began by resizing the image and then printing it onto Cryogen white paper with my inkjet printer. I also printed the image onto Eclipse tape to use as a mask. Once I had her masked, I built the scene around her. The bank, birds, bushes and branches are all Stampscapes. The mountains are from Sutter.

So back to the challenge, I used my favorite combination of BG11 and BG13 for Bella's coat and R81, R83, R85 for her scarf and muff. Another favorite is BV01 and BV04 for Bronte's scarf. For the ground I used a combination of E51, E53, E55 and E33 with accents of B000. The frozen water and snowy areas is B0000, B000 and B00. I colored Bronte with E42, E43, and E44 (a great combination for animals) and then airbrushed B24 into the sky. Cute, huh? Finished size is 8.5 x 10.75 inches. Thanks for stopping by.

Bear, Bears, Bears

Here is a scene I made for my swap partner on the Yahoo Sutter group. It is a huge scene, 8.5 x 11 inches. I stamped on Cryogen white paper with Memento Tuxedo black ink and colored it with my Copic markers.

The branches and the birds are from Stampscapes, everything else is from Sutter Stamps. For those of you not familiar with scenic stamping, I blended about 18 stamps together to make this scene. I began with the big bear in the foreground, masked him off, then added the large central bear fishing scene. The rest was just find a stamp that fit and plug it in. I rarely plan my scenes, just start with a main stamp and build around it. I was very pleased with the end result.

New Stippled Tag class

Here are the class samples for my upcoming Stippled Tag class at Scrappin & Stampin in Livonia on September 26th. Hope you can join us.

As the title says, these are stippled with dye inks onto glossy tags. I used Adirondack inks for the backgrounds and most of the images are stamped with Marvy Black ink.

I usually seal my glossy cardstock with an acrylic spray but I tried a new product from Judikins called Microglaze. I just apply a thin coat with my finger and then buff it to a beautiful glossy finish. It is great because it does not smell like glossy spray does. You can get both the microglaze and the stipple brushes I use (#2 and #4 at the bottom of the page) from Frantic Stamper.
